Did you know that even if you buy tickets for the shink, you're not guarenteed a seat? Standing for the entire trip from Osaka to Okayama isn't a whole lot of fun (and that's not even that far). I recommend paying the extra few thousand yen for a reserved seat. If you don't smoke though, you may prefer to stand in the space between cars, even if seats are available in the smoking cars. The air gets so thick with smoke, you'll feel ill long before reaching your destination. |
