Description:
Two ornate gates stand in the center of Kunming. They were destroyed during the cultural revolution and rebuilt in 1999. If my translation is right, these gates are called Jinma Biji Fang (金馬碧鶏坊) - Gold Horse and Jabe Chicken Gates (?). These gates are said to be the symbol of Kunming, but there is no mention of them in the Rough Guide, nor in English anywhere on the internet. I was able to find information in Japanese however.
